Greetings to all my Adland friends,

It sure feels great to be back again. And surprised to see so much has changed around here.

First of all I want to thank Joe Downing & the BFA team for holding the fort while I was gone, sure appreciate you all. THANK YOU !!!

Well about the changes here, first of all I think Adland has a super new look, which was long overdue, this new format will need getting used to and as we find our way around and continue to be active we will ultimately get used to it. For those of us who were uncomfortable with this change, keep doing what you do even if you holla for help now and then, with time you will see you will begin to like what we have.

I would like to invite all to take time and click on the links here and enjoy the forums presented by our members, each special in their own unique way, stop by and congratulate our winners of various awards and features, vote where its needed, your support goes a long way and means much to the friend you vote for.

Our featured articles are special and we thank our members for sending in their writes so that we can enjoy and get inspired. Please send me your thoughts & feedback should you have any, I would love to hear from you.

Wishing you a prosperous month ahead,

Warm regards

Hello Adlanders,

It is always a good idea  to check your ads from time to time and make sure that relevant information is posted. Even the most experienced members that advertise can lose sight of what the ad content contains through editing existing ads and creating new ones. Using a content list like below as your guidelines can improve your click through rate:

Offering an excellent benefit in your headline
Choose the main benefit of your product or service and feature it in a convincing headline. You can then strengthen this message in your ad body. Avoid using general or overused phrases for the benefits you are offering as this will get lost with the others. Hint: Use a thesaurus, this will give you options to over used words.

Marketing and tracking your Ad
Find out what is important to people browsing in your classified category and make sure you are using keywords that will be important to these viewers. Keep track of what is working and get delete or edit the ones that do not. Keep a list for both as knowing what does and doesn't work will make it easier in the long run.

Stating a cost or a price range
If you name a price, whether it's high or low make sure you provide an explanation. High pricing should offer it's value and worth, so don't price yourself out unless you can fully explain it and if you're on the lower end make sure you post it as Sale, Introductory Offer or Special Promotion etc... because if it is too low some may not believe it.

If you offer brand names don't be shy about it.
Selling branded merchandise in the ad is great but be specific and never mislead what you have. Branded merchandise can bring someone to your site, but if you mislead them your chances of a sale are all but gone.

Simplify Your Classified Ads
Your ad in the classified should be clear and to the point it should be planned to capture the readers attention with a detail rich ad body. Remember you can attract viewers with a good headline so your text body should give them the details related to your headline as the reason to click on it, you only have so much room to be specific.

Don't be afraid to ask for the sale!
By ending your ad with an action phrase such as "Limited Time Only," "Last Chance, Few Left," or "Buy Now" you are adding an inducement for the viewer to become a buyer by reacting to your ad.

Regards,

Barry Scott

Terry is a great poet and thinker. Her writings are weaved from love and wisdom. A true friend. One of ALP legends.

"The world is your mirror and your mind is a magnet. What you perceive in this world is largely a reflection of your own attitudes and beliefs. Life will give you what you attract with your thoughts. Think, act and talk negatively and your world will be negative. Think and act and talk with enthusiasm and you will attract positive results." ~Michael LeBeu

When I was invited to write an article for October's BFA Newsletter, I was deeply honored. I love to inspire others to be the best that they can be. To be all that they were meant to be. I believe many of us don't fully understand our full potential or purpose. Life isn't about yesterday or tomorrow... its about today and how we grew from yesterday for tomorrow.

Life is ever changing. We are much like the seasons. Our youth is like the Spring, fresh and new. Full of possibility. Summer comes when we become young adults living with our full potential, dreams within our grasp. Fall creeps in with wisdom and wistfulness. Winter is so often associated with death. It is beautiful, yet so cold and the stark reality of time hits us.

I'm seeing Winter as the time to appreciate the other three seasons. To find a new you. There is a new lease on Life. We are living longer, healthier lives. We have the ability to change our seasons to one of Spring, where we are always fresh and new. We do this by accepting new ideas. By embracing change. We grow instead of shriveling up and dying.

It is when we understand ourselves and our abilities that we have the greatest potential to be the best that we can be. When we stretch ourselves ... when we reach for the stars ... when we don't give up.

When we find the Peace with ourselves to be who we are as we want and can be. When we know without a doubt that all things are possible. When we know without a doubt that we are living a Life filled with happiness and joy. An abundant Life filled with Love and Gratitude. It is then we can appreciate the Winter of our lives. It is then we can beany season at any time in our Life.

How you made money

A young man asked an old rich man how he made his money.

The old guy fingered his worsted wool vest and said, "Well, son, it was 1932. The depth of the Great Depression. I was down to my last nickel.

"I invested that nickel in an apple. I spent the entire day polishing the apple and, at the end of the day, I sold the apple for ten cents.

"The next morning, I invested those ten cents in two apples. I spent the entire day polishing them and sold them at 5:00 pm for 20 cents. I continued this system for a month, by the end of which I'd accumulated a fortune of $1.37."

"And that's how you built an empire?" the boy asked.

"Heavens, no!" the man replied. "Then my wife's father died and left us two million dollars."

Signs and notices

These are supposedly actual signs that have appeared at various locations.

Found written on the wall in front of a photocopier of a company going through hardships : " DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE - XEROX YOUR PAYCHECKS "

At a car dealership in Maryland to announce new seat belt legislation: "Belt your family. It's the law."

Seen while traveling in the Yucatan Peninsula: "Broken English spoken perfectly"

At an Applebee's restaraunt: "NOTICE: AFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY! A new 6% tax will be charged for the cost of collecting taxes!"

Fitness Center sign: "Self Esteem is feeling good about yourself - regardless of the facts."

In restaurant: "Open seven days a week and weekends."

On the freeway in Boston during a MAJOR transformation of the streets and bridges, etc: "Rome wasn't built in a day. If it was we would have hired their contractor."

A sign in front of an advertising agency in south superhighway, Philippines: "A BUSINESS WITH NO SIGN IS A SIGN OF NO BUSINESS"

A sign in front of a Macadamia Nut Factory in Hawaii: "Caution: Nuts crossing road."

-------------------------------------------------------

Bumper stickers

WANTED: Meaningful overnight relationship.

BEER: It's not just for breakfast anymore.

So you're a feminist...Isn't that cute.

Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.

All men are idiots....I married their king.

IRS: We've got what it takes to take what you've got.

Hard work has a future payoff. Laziness pays off now.

Reality is a crutch for people who can't handle drugs.

Out of my mind...Back in five minutes.

I took an IQ test and the results were negative.
